Project overview

Indianapolis International Airport

We collaborated with the Indianapolis International Airport to launch their permanent installation, 'Celebrating Indiana Artists.' This exhibit aims to educate travelers from around the world about some of the most talented Hoosiers in history. The 2024 installation focuses on Wes Montgomery - legendary Jazz/Pop guitarist - and Cole Porter - playwright and composer of many historical pieces. The installation comprises of two biographical videos that will be showcased on floor-to-ceiling LED walls inside of the airport as well as a microsite containing additional information, audio and video recordings of both artists, and links on where to learn more.

Challenge

Bring the legacy of two groundbreaking artists to a new generation of travelers from all across the globe through an informative, yet dynamic visual display and microsite.

process

We dove deep into the lives of each artist, we wanted to not just understand what they did but why they did it. We listened to their music as we conceived and animated each video. We wanted to create something more than just a slideshow of old pictures, something that breathed new life into these giants of their time to introduce their brilliance to a new generation.

Result

After months of research, storyboarding, animating, and optimizing; we were left with 2 totally unique, yet cohesive looks into each of the artist's lives. We hope that the installation will spark curiosity in travelers, and introduce them to two Hoosier's who changed the world. Make sure to check out the displays next time you are flying.
